As a child, Augustine’s mother was a firm #christian believer, while his father was a pagan. He had very little interest in religion, preferring to be more of a trouble-making kid than a follower of Christ. Before becoming the great mind of #christianity that he grew to be, he was a teacher of rhetoric and Manichean philosophy. After feeling convicted by the writings of Paul, he became a monk and then a bishop. Until he died in 430, he wrote some of the most influential works in Christian history.
