Fairy Tail Volume 53: Prelude to the Final Battle - Manga Review

Welcome to my review of Fairy Tail Volume 53 by Hiro Mashima. The final battle is upon us! In this volume our heroes make their escape from the Alvarez Empire with Makarov thanks to Laxus and Ichiya! "MEEEEEN!" We also learn the tragic backstory between Mavis and Zeref and how the two of them were once lovers. All of this is cut short when Alvarez launches on all out assault on Fairy Tail with all of the members of the Spriggan 12 attacking from four different fronts. How will our heroes prevail from this disaster? My next Fairy Tail video will probably be an unboxing/overview of the sixth and final box set whenever that arrives. Until then, I may review Fairy Tail Zero which adds context to Mavis and Zeref's relationship, as well as the origin of Fairy Tail itself.
