The long-awaited Ethereum blockchain update could happen this summer. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated last week at the ETH Shanghai Web 3.0 Developer Summit that "the merging" will be finished this summer. This revolutionary update will transition Ethereum from a proof-of-work approach to a proof-of-stake model.
“If there are no problems, then the merge will happen in August,” said Buterin.
