Releasing this short video again of me saving a pelican that was caught in a jug line this past spring. I understand that people jug line fish, but I don't agree with it in open water situations. I have found fish on jug lines miles away from any shoreline, that would never be recovered and were destined to swim around hooked, until they die. This pelican was hooked in a jug line. I chased him around the bay 4 times until I was able to catch him. He was released unharmed. The hook had made a non-threatening hole and the wound had partially healed by time I found him.
