We're getting ready for the Columbia, Pennsylvania Appraisal Fair this Friday, so we're taking a look back at unseen finds from this summer's appraisal season! There's fun and surprising things to see in footage from two different appraisal fairs—one from a senior home and one from a collector convention via@Rosie's Auction House.

You never know what will happen at an appraisal fair like this! A vase with a curious connection to Yours Truly emerges, along with a platter dating to the Qing Dynasty. I speak from my experience as a certified antiques and personal property appraiser as we review retail prices on a fun group of items as diverse as a valuable and scarce troll critter, a glamorous gold watch and a lamp with a certain pedigree we can't quite see...but know is there.

We talk about the age, origin, condition and other factors affecting the value of a host of different pieces...all have tales to tell and value in the vintage marketplace! We hope this video will help Goodwill thrifting and flea market shoppers identify and price items, but even more that this whets the antique shopping collectors desire to know more when they go out to hunt.
