We Were GIFTED A NINTENDO 64!

One man's trash is another man's treasure, am I right? A former coworker of mine recently messaged me and asked if I would be interested in some old Nintendo 64 stuff that he had. Of course, and after several weeks we finally coordinated the drop off. The results are as you see it here, an N64, two games, two controllers, and all the hookups. Let's take a closer look.

One of the first things that I was interested in was to see the serial number on the system. It started with ns2, which unfortunately means it is not compatible with one of the RGB Mod kits from @Voultar. Well, shoot. I can still install Tim Worthington's RGB mod or a PixelFX HDMI mod if I so desire. I was also interested to see what kind of RAM card it had in it, and it was the standard, not expansion card.

Checking out the controllers, both were original OEM Nintendo units. I know controller stick wobble is a serious issue and went to check out both controllers. The gray one was in overall decent shape, but did have signs of wear and tear. The atomic purple one, however, oof. The stick on the atomic purple one is pretty bad and I will probably see if I can find a replacement for it.

The games were also nothing special, Destruction Derby 2000 and Bassmasters 2000. No hidden gems here, no Mario, not even Yoshi's story, but I'm still glad to have these added to the collection.

Overall, I really appreciate Mike thinking of me when it comes to getting rid of his old gaming equipment. As I mentioned, I will be retrofitting both controllers with new control sticks, cleaning it up, and probably donating it somewhere.
