Although both the worker bee and the queen bee are female honey bees, they have distinct functions within the beehive. The majority of people are aware that all bees cooperate to maintain a hive's nourishment and sustenance with suitable food, protection, and consistent progeny. With the exception of being fed a specific diet and possessing abilities not shared by other female bees, the queen is almost physically and genetically identical to worker bees. Although all bees contribute to wellbeing and protection, worker bees carry out the majority of the labor. Each colony has a single queen bee that is cared for and defended by a large number of worker bees. But while sharing a gender, the queen bee and worker bees differ greatly from one another.
