Polymorphous ants and eagles.

Polymorphous ants and eagles. The new species also appear to be more similar than distinct, with both of them making use on the same island (the Philippines).
Circling around in a dark green patch which appears small enough for one insect is an animal known as the "coater". This particular ant looks quite familiar from my previous experience reading about this creature when I was working on another book written by William Strandberg over 15 years ago, A Guide To Ants In Europe. For those curiousers these animals are related but very different due almost entirely because they don't mate at all: They're actually solitary – or indeed often not even mating within 10 day
