Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States of America. He is the first African American to hold the office. Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1961. In 2009, he became the first African American to be elected president. He is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was the president of the Harvard Law Review. From 1996 to 2004, Obama served as a member of the Illinois State Senate. He is a former community organizer. He is married to Michelle Obama. They have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.
