Parkinson wrote that a task will be expanded to consume all available resources, if it has no due date. In today's video, I show different examples how you can use the law to avoid long and ineffective processes in your work.

The Parkinson's Law is one of those rules that can and will be used to control your work process in surprisingly effective ways. It should be binding in business to a certain extent and has the power to relieve the work pressure when implemented in the right way.

Good examples of the Law are the following:

Work always stretches to the maximum time available:
→ If I give a task exactly one week of time, then I will complete it in one week
→ if I give the task only three days of time, I will finish it with the same quality within three days

Based on this Law, it is imperative to set time limit to use the resources I have effectively and not spend them unnecessarily!
