What Selling My Car Reminded Me About Customer Service in the Automotive Industry

All right. So yesterday I sold my Corvette Z06 and have had for about a year and a half. And while it's a little bit bittersweet, I'll just want to tell you guys about my experience, right? So I went on Kellybluebook.com, got my little quote reached, had a few people reach out to me. I also went to Carvana.

I guess they buy cars now. Their quote was like $64,000 and Kelley Blue Book was like $71K and some change. So I was like, You know what? There's a Chevy store right down the road. Let me let me go to the Chevy store first. I get there. The buyers out there, it's some old salesperson. I actually felt like really anxious inside the dealership.

Like, I just didn't want to be there and just there was just this weird vibe and it was it was a horrible experience. At the end of the day, they told me that they just weren't interested in the car. And I think that's because they told me that someone brought in a the same year z06 all about blah blah blah blah all the same 3LZ and had 800 something miles on it.

They hit them at 60 and I was like, Well, you guys are smoked crack. So anyway, I ended up going down the street to Boniface Hires Key J.R. Fantastic Store. I walked in their showrooms. Beautiful. It's a brand new store, but I walked in there. I was immediately greeted. The guy, the smile on his face. He I told him what I was there for.

He went, got the people that I needed to talk to. The salesman went out, got some information. The general manager actually came out and shook my hand. I mean, honestly, like it was just a fantastic experience. They gave me a little bit more than what I was kind of hoping for it right around the same amount that I was hoping for.

And I was very happy with the deal. At the end of the day, I drove a Corvette Z06 for a year and a half, had a shit ton of fun and I actually made money.
