Aphid Control on Milkweed - Monarch Butterfly Habitat
1 year ago
3
Milkweed is the main host plant for the monarch butterfly. The caterpillars feed on the plant, but if it is compromised with aphids, nutrients are removed that would benefit the monarch.
A soapy water solution, used as a direct contact spray, will kill the aphids. But be careful - as it will harm the monarch caterpillars as well. So, move any caterpillars until after spraying and rinsing, and place them on healthy parts of the plant.
