Stress, Failure, and Being Trapped – Being Dad with Phil Lower, September 19, 2022

The loss of my grandma was a heavy blow for me because she helped raise me.

When your kids are dealing with a problem in their life, it’s coming from one of three places.

If it’s emotional, then it is Stress and it is either Hurt which causes Anger or Loss which causes Anxiety.

If it’s Intellectual Laziness or Confusion due to a lack of education, or Obsession due to a lack of Experience, it can lead them to Failure to reach their goals.

Lastly, if it’s making a selfish decision due to a Lack of Conscience (or Amorality) versus a Lack of Intuition due to Naivete, they could feel trapped by their decision.

Any one of these could be sufficient to affect them for the long term depending on what happened.

Here’s the formula:

Self-esteem (well-being + confidence) + Intellectual Data (Education + Experience) + Decision-making (Conscience + Intuition) = Resources or Strength to reinforce and hold strong.
