On September 15-16, the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO Member States was held in Samarkand, a historic city in Uzbekistan. Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the summit. Leaders of SCO member countries signed and issued the Samarkand Declaration. Procedures for accepting Belarus as a member of the SCO, granting Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar the status of SCO dialogue partners. Xi Jinping also paid state visits to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Iranian President Lehi and other leaders of many countries, and attended the sixth meeting of the heads of state of China, Russia and Mongolia.

On September 16, Ambassador Qin Gang attended the China-US Climate-Smart Agriculture Roundtable in St. Louis, Missouri, and inspected local farms. American farmers and agribusinesses need the Chinese market. Benefiting from Sino-US agricultural trade, they look forward to continuing to deepen cooperation with China. American agriculture is undergoing a green and low-carbon transformation. The application of advanced seed technology, digital technology, machinery and equipment, and mature farming methods helps farmers to produce efficiently and sustainably. It not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions, but also achieves carbon capture and carbon sequestration. Both China and the United States are agriculture, and it is the common responsibility of the two countries to promote sustainable agricultural development in the long run and maintain world food security.
