Herpeton, or tentacle snake

The Herpeton, or tentacle snake, is the only representative of its species and possesses a unique feature that sets it apart from the entire family of Alsobranchs.

It is a pair of cone-like tentacles growing on its head. Most likely, these two small growths equipped with muscles, used as sensory sensors, with which the herpeton receives information about what is happening around.

Widespread in Indochina, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
