Amazing Scratch-Built RC Westland Wyvern Torpedo Bomber

Here's another one for #FlashbackFriday This time we have Dave Wigley's incredible scratch build masterpiece and Top Gun winning Westland Wyvern. The full scale aircraft was an extremely unique British torpedo bomber that served in the 1950s. It used a turbo-prop engine and counter-rotating propellers. To simulate this, the model has a free spinning rear propeller that spins as the front propeller provides the thrust. This results in a very interesting whine from the power system based on the two propellers interacting together. It was such a beautifully built model! #scalemodel #westland #warbirdShow more
