ADCC 2022: Gordon Ryan achieves historic feat and submits André Galvão in the superfight

After three years of waiting, a lot of provocation and even a backstage fight, André Galvão and Gordon Ryan met in the ADCC 2022 superfight, on Sunday night (18), in Las Vegas (USA). The confrontation was technical and disputed in every detail. The American imposed his game, opened the scoring and ended up finishing to crown yet another gala performance in the tournament.

Right at the beginning of the match, Galvão tried to catch Gordon and ended up slapping the American in the face. The referee even interrupted, but the two greeted each other and continued the confrontation. The Brazilian got a takedown, but they still weren't worth points for being before ten minutes. Ryan stayed on the ground and tried to attack the Atos leader's leg, but to no avail.

When he took down André, Gordon was calm to progress the attack. Upon breaking the ten-minute barrier, he accelerated, took the back and fitted the hook a few times until it opened 12 to 0 on the scoreboard. The American didn't give up, he continued in the position until he finished by strangulation, with just over three minutes left on the clock. Still on the mat, the two put aside all the rivalry and exchanged a quick conversation in a respectful tone.
