Unless ye be residin under a barnacle covered rock, ye should know that today, the nineteenth of September, be global Talk Like a Pirate Day. Aaarrrrr!!!!!!! In fact, pretty much every day represents several of these unofficial holidays. Yesterday was National Cheeseburger Day, tomorrow is National Miniature Golf Day. But where did all these days begin? The underlying idea would be well recognized in ancient Rome. And each of these celebrations has a history all its own.
