An Andean condor was released back to the wild in the mountains of Bolivia, September 1, 2022, after it was nursed back to health.

The 6-year-old male condor had been in treatment for two weeks because of food poisoning. The animal was found in poor condition by a local resident and was turned over to the Agroflori Bio Park for rehabilitation.

Authorities equipped the condor with a GPS device to track its movements.

Conservationists have been working to improve the numbers of the Andean condor, which are among the largest birds in the world, for decades.
