• Matt 17:24-27 Jesus used this situation, however, to emphasize his kingly role. Just as kings pay no taxes and collect none from their family, Jesus, the King, owed no taxes. But Jesus supplied the tax payment for both himself and Peter rather than offend those who didn't understand his kingship. Although Jesus supplied the tax money, Peter had to go and get it. Ultimately all that we have comes to us from God's supply, but he may want us to be active in the process. As God's people, we are foreigners on earth because our loyalty is always to our real King—Jesus. Still we have to cooperate with the authorities and be responsible citizens. An ambassador to another country keeps the local laws in order to represent well the one who sent him. We are Christ's ambassadors. Are you being a good foreign ambassador for him to this world?

• Matt 18:1-4 Jesus used a child to help his self-centered disciples get the point. We are not to be childish (like the disciples, arguing over petty issues) but childlike, with humble and sincere hearts. In what areas of your life do you tend to struggle with childishness? In what ways are you making progress with childlikeness?

• Matt. 18:5 A number of years ago, the story was told of a Scottish pastor, who stood before his congregation and resigned, saying, "In the past two years, I have seen only one conversion in this congregation: wee Bobby Moffatt. With such little fruit, I can no longer serve in this ministry." And he walked away from the pulpit a broken man. Little did he know that wee Bobby Moffatt grew up to be Robert Moffatt, the missionary who opened the entire continent of Africa to the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you are teaching Sunday school right now, it's very possible that you have a "wee Bobby Moffatt" in your class. If you work with kids, realize that Jesus places a very high value on children. He says if you receive them, you receive Him.

Personal Supplication
Father in the name of Jesus, I receive the grace to do away with childishness in my relationship with You and the world. Help me maintain a childlike faith in Jesus' name! 1 Cor 13:11
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Daily Covenant Favor Declaration
I decree in the name of Jesus, from this moment forward, I see myself the way God sees me. I am highly favoured of the Lord. I am crowned with glory and honour. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
I am reigning as a king in life through the one man Jesus Christ the messiah. Now in Jesus name, I declare by faith that I walk in divine favour, I have preferential treatment, supernatural increase. I have restoration, I have prominence, I have petitions granted, laws changed, policies and rules changed, and battles won, which I do not have to fight all because of favour. The blessing and favour of God is on my life. In Jesus name, every morning, when I arise, I would speak and expect divine favour to go before me and surround me as with a shield, with goodwill and pleasures forevermore.

Doors are now open for me that men said are impossible to open. No obstacles can stop me, no hindrances can delay me. In Jesus name, I am honoured by my Father, as I receive genuine favour that comes directly from God. I am special to Him, I am the object of His affection, I am the apple of His eyes, I am blessed and highly favoured of the Lord. Everyone and everything shall work to favour me. Angels Goodness and Mercy shall accompany me in all my ways. It is written with long life will God satisfy me and show me his salvation. Therefore, I declare that I shall not die but live to declare the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I declare over me and my household today that the yoke and burden of death over us is broken. So shall it be for me and my household today in Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen!
