Gautam Adani becomes 2nd richest person in the world

Indian industrialist Gautam Adani has become the world's 2nd-richest person on the Forbes real-time billionaire tracker. Adani's net worth surged $4 billion on night 15/16 September to $154 billion, according to Forbes' ranking.

Adani is now ahead of LVMH's Bernard Arnault and Amazon's Jeff Bezos. Elon Musk remains the richest man in the world with net worth more than $270 billion.

Adani is a self-made entrepreneur from Ahmedabad in the western Indian state of Gujrat who started his group in 1988 as a commodity trading business. He later expanded into energy, utilities, infrastructure, coal and ports. Adani group owns 13 strategically located ports and terminals in India which is 24% of country's port capacity.
