KING Charles looked stunned tonight as a man on roller skates came within seconds of being run over by his state car.

The King was on his way to Westminster Hall tonight to perform a vigil at the Queen's coffin when the drama unfolded.

The idiot on blades came flying around Parliament Square before being floored by police.

Two cops attempted to stop him before he flew down Great George Street and into the path of the new Monarch.

Eight officers guarding the closed streets ahead of the poignant vigil darted over and bundled him to the ground.

The car carrying King Charles III drove past under armed police escort seconds later.

Crowds cheered as the man was handcuffed and dragged away just after 7.30pm.

He stuck his tongue out as he was led away.
