We take Jesus's Teach on Love you Neighbor from Luke chapter 4, and apply it to his interaction with His own enemies in John chapter 8. From this we see that loving your enemies, while includes forgiving them from the cross , does not include being "nice" and sparing their "feelings". In this passage Jesus refers to their father as Satan no less then 4 times. He identifies them as liars with intent to kill him. What is up with this? We are to turn the cheek when we are personally attacked, but when the TRUTH is at stake, and the public is listening, and needs to know the truth, there is another dynamic at work. Jesus was prayed up and operating in the power of the Holy spirit. This is not something he said to the Pharisees out of any kind of anger or spite. It was the Loving but harsh word they and the public needed to hear. The trick now... how do we translate this Love and Truth into the issues we face today with those ready to attack pregnancy's support centers and Churches.
