Stratford CT. - A resident was denied a pistol permit due to a prior bad act, when he was fifteen, in New York state. The Stratford P.D. denied his permit using the arrest in NY. The Connecticut Supreme Court overrode that decision stating that prior convictions in another state have no bearing on permit applications withing CT. I discuss the ramifications of the court"s decision and how much of a role someone's history should matter in the permit application process.
