One Accord
(Achieving Harmony in the Church)
Text: Philippians 4
Obj: that the brethren may have harmony in the church

Intro:
Harmony - Compatibility in opinion and action, Agreement of opinions, congruity of parts with one another and with the whole

Why should Harmony be Achieved:
1. Harmony brings about Good and Loving Fellowship – v.1
a. Consolation, comfort, love, fellowship, mercy
b. V.2 - Joy; Rejoicing – v.28; Gladness – 29
c. Followers with also same mind – v. 20
2. Maturity and Holiness – vv. 15,16
3. The Lord is Ultimately Glorified – vv. 10-11
How is Harmony Achieved:
1. Mind the same things – v.2 - Be of one Accord
2. Love as brethren – v.2
3. Avoid infightings -v.3 – strife – specially over petty things (vain glory) , v.14-disputings
4. Practice Humility- v.3 – lowliness
5. Esteem Others – v.3
6. Check on other’s Actual situations – v. 4
7. Always focus on How the Lord Jesus instructed us how to achieve harmony – vv. 6-13

Message/conclusion:

Let us achieve harmony in the church having one accord with the Lord and the brethren
