DBA vs. LLC vs. S-corp: how to have a homestead business

Patti O'dell grew up in Northern Michigan just north of Cadillac and resided on a dairy farm for some of her childhood. She graduated from Central Michigan with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an accounting concentration. She then went to Walsh College and earned a Master in Taxation. And if that wasn't enough, she went to law school at Thomas M. Cooley Law School to obtain her juris doctor with a concentration in business and tax.
She has worked in private industry in accounting firms for seven years and then has worked in public accounting firms for over 20 years. She currently works full time Baird, Cotter and Bishop, PC, a public accounting firm located in Cadillac and Traverse City MI.

She also passed the bar in Michigan and is a licensed attorney who practices in Business Formation, Estate Planning, and had practiced in Divorce, Criminal, and Juvenile Abuse and Neglect.

Patti resides in Northern Michigan on a 20 acre homestead and has currently 6 alpacas, 40 sheep (shetland mixes), a brown swiss heifer, three guardian livestock dogs, chickens, and raises and shows Shetland Sheepdogs as well. In her spare time, she spins and knits, cans her own food, has a garden, and researches her family history.
