Cans vs Tops, that is the question. Today I will be comparing the yield of melting 50 cans vs 50 tops. Which one produces the best amount of aluminum compared to the dross. Also we need to take into consideration the amount of time it takes to melt each one. More time, means more fuel, and more money.Show more

Both were added to my furnace that was already at melting temperature.

50 Cans gives give 65% of good aluminum and it took 15-17 minutes

50 Can Tops give 78% of good aluminum and only took 2 minutes
