In this episode, we welcome Dean Inserra to the show. He is the founding and lead pastor of CITYCHURCH in Tallahassee, FL. Dean graduated from Liberty University and attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He holds a MA in Theological Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is pursuing a D.Min from Southern Seminary. He is also an advisory member of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission's Leadership Council with the Southern Baptist Convention. In this interview, we discuss his new book Pure: Why The Bible’s Plan for Sexuality Isn’t Outdated, Irrelevant, or Oppressive, how the “purity movement” of the 1990s and 2000s potential damaged young people, why we should see marriage as a cornerstone and not a capstone, why most churches won’t address the issue of homosexuality, how to make your church man-friendly, why cohabitation is such an issue even with Christians, and much more.
