Time is nearing its end. A lone planetoid stands vigil at the edge of our universe – one of the few specks of light in the vast blackness of outer-most space. Very few memories had survived the ages of the race that built the ‘City’ – only its guardians were said to preserve that sacred knowledge. Not many scholars ventured out this far into the edges of the cosmos, only outlaws and unsavoury types. In common lore, it is recorded that the planetoid housed gigantic servers dating to a time aeons past.

He is suddenly aware of the towering black-crystal monoliths that rise up to meet the firmament miles overhead. The skies aren’t blue – he remembered the skies of Earth being blue, with white clouds, and a sun, and a single moon. The dome separating the sky confused him; where was he? His body seemed ethereal and non-physical, what was he? Was he still alive? He remembers vividly sitting beneath a tree in a beautiful woodland, deep in meditation. He remembered grasping for some vague but profound epiphany. And then he was here...
