Psalm 92:5 O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

Consider this: words are thoughts expressed audibly or in written form. Scripture is God's words, therefore, in it, we get to see his mind, his thoughts. Now notice he says, his thoughts are "VERY DEEP". This means that his words are very deep.

Now this is a problem for us, cause compare to him ALL of us are shallow thinkers. We CANNOT see the depth of his word with our shallow minds. Even the wisest of men is a fool to God. How then can we see the depths of God's mind?

1 Corinthians 2:10-11 But *God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit*: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, *the deep things of God*. [11] For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

The word of God is deep, but we won't see how deep till he reveals, and he won't reveal if we don't seek.

Consider the cross. The heartbeat of his word: there God:
1. Judged sin (Justice - God's wrath was poured out)
2. Justifies those who trust in God (Mercy - via the shed blood)
3. Crucified the old man (destroys the enemy called flesh)
4. Brought life to the new (blood & water from his side)
5. Built a bridge between us and him (because of the redemptive power of the cross, God can enter flesh and we can enter Spirit)
6. Destroys the power of the enemy (death)
7. The blood of the cross shield his people from all the powers of the enemy

May God reveal to us the depth of his word.
