Introducing: The Music That Will Make You Relax and Focus

Put on your headphones and shut out the rest of the world for a few minutes. Mindfulness meditation can lower stress levels, ease anxiety, boost creativity, improve sleep quality, reduce depression, and make you a better leader. But it's hard to get started when life is constantly pulling you in all directions. Meditating for five minutes will give you a big head start.

Start by sitting comfortably with your back straight and your eyes closed. Breathe deeply from the belly as you focus on nothing but each breath for about 10 seconds. Then repeat this process for at least 10 minutes, breathing deeply from the belly again after every inhalation and exhalation.

As you notice thoughts intruding (they always do), gently push them away or just observe them without judgement before going back to focusing on your breath. If your mind starts to wander more than usual, bring yourself back to the breath - I know it sounds cliché but so does just keep trying - and don't be discouraged if you're not able to clear your mind completely.

Keep up the practice; each time you meditate is like taking a step closer to Nirvana. Once you've reached a state of deep concentration, gradually open your eyes and move on with your day - new ideas might come flowing through!
