Pope blesses icon depicting Mary, Jesus as Kazakhs

Pope Francis on Thursday (September 15) blessed an icon depicting Mary and the baby Jesus as native Kazakhs. The painting was unveiled in the Nur-Sultan Catholic cathedral, as the pontiff wrapped up a three-day visit to Kazakstan where he took part in the interfaith congress.
