The ancient Church of Smyrna in Izmir Turkey!

This is a video tour of the ancient Greek Agora in Izmir, Turkey and also a bible teaching about Jesus' letter to the church of Smyrna that was here in this ancient city back in the first century AD. Learn about what Jesus said to these Christians and how it still speaks to Christians today. The Christians in Smyrna were living in a very difficult situation where they faced poverty and persecution but yet they were spiritually rich and spiritually strong because their hardship brought them closer to God. There are a lot of lessons that we can learn today from what Jesus said to them because many christians nowadays don't suffer from poverty or persecution and so they are spiritually poor and weak because the things of this world distract us and keep us from being close to God.

Revelation 2:8-11
And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; 9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. 10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. 11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
