Acts lesson 01, Introduction, Background, and Argument

SBC Family Near and Far,

I'm too exhausted from all the study in prepping for 7.5 hours of teaching each week at both the church and seminary. I'm going to have to compromise somewhere. I've decided that place is Wednesday night because I am wiped out Wednesday's.

We're still having class, but I'm laying off of 1 Samuel for awhile and picking up Acts. I have most of this prepared and we can learn a lot from this marvelous book that describes the origin and rapid growth of the church. There is so much for us here, including our heritage, missions, work of the Spirit, the spread of the word of God, how the apostles preached, how they defended the truth, how they handled persecution, and how Christ was building it no matter what and how He can't be stopped! Beyond that there is soo much more. It is an encouraging and enlightening book!
