The Lethbridge Terry Fox Run is now just days away and participants are ready to put on their best running shoes for a good cause. A total of 125-175 runners are expected to show up to the run which will take place at the Legacy Park Picnic Shelter on September 18th. In 1981, Terry Fox embarked on a cross-country trek through Canada to raise awareness and funding for cancer research after he had to have his own leg amputated due to the disease. Lorien Johansen, the Co-Chair of the Run Organizing Committee for the Lethbridge Terry Fox Run says the goal this year for funds raised is $4,000.

Around 85 cents of every dollar is given to the Terry Fox Foundation which goes directly into cancer research. The foundation has raised more than $850 million and funded 1,300 innovative cancer research projects.
