Being an excellent governor is one thing, being an excellent president is another. Can Ron DeSantis take a billion arrows like Trump has? I don't know the answer. So far no Republican in history, other than Lincoln/Trump, has been able to. Every other Republican folded to the Devilcrat party before they left office. And before you bring up Barry Goldwater, he was never President, so we'll never know whether he could withstand the onslaught of violence from the left.
