JUST HOW OLD IS THE “CASTLE DOCTRINE”?

Today, in many states, we have a law commonly called the castle doctrine. Basically, it says that if someone forcibly enters a home, deadly force may be used against them. Those inside need not establish that they are armed, or that they intend to do harm to them, the mere fact that they forcibly entered the home is enough to establish that intent.

Some would have us believe that this is a new, novel and dangerous idea. What if I could establish that this concept has been around for over 3,000 years?

Well, to establish that, all we need do is look at the 2nd book of the Bible.
