A day in the life of a raw feeder

This is exactly how I order Jericho's raw food online. I'm also introducing a new protein and meal prepping!

Offering variety to your cat is important. Apparently wild cats eat 5-7 different proteins to complete their diet.

Just focus on one change at a time. And transition slowly.

You see how duck was out of stock? This is exactly why I recommend feeding variety!

The transition meal prep takes a bit longer because the amounts of each protein vary.

Keep an ice pack under the ice cube trays to keep the meat cold while you prep.

I also cover the containers while I'm sorting it out to prevent oxidation.

Mix water and raw food premix with the meat, bones, and organs to portion. But supplements like fish oil are best given fresh at mealtime.

Fish oil is very fragile and turns rancid quickly.

The capsules are a bit more difficult to serve than liquid. But liquid you have to use up within 30 days after opening. So you may end up wasting some.

Puncture the capsule and drop a bit on the food and mix well. Some cats don't like the smell of fish oil.

Ironic because they often get addicted to fish!

Use one soft gel for every 20 pounds of body weight daily.

Jericho weighs just under 10 pounds so I will give just under 1/2 a capsule daily, split between his meals.

Start off small when you introduce ANYTHING NEW and work up to the daily amount gradually.
