JESUS, THE MESSIAH & ETERNAL KING Mathew 17:1-5
• Matt 17:1 At the close of chapter 16, Jesus told His disciples that some of them would see the Kingdom before they died. Over the centuries, many have suggested that since all of the disciples died without witnessing His return, Jesus was amiss when He said this. Thus, they conclude, Jesus was actually fallible. Of course, this is blasphemy, for chapter 17 opens with three of His disciples about to see the glory of the kingdom. Once again, we see Jesus calling His disciples apart. It has been often said that if we don't come apart, we'll fall apart. We need to get away from the trials and the daily routine of life to retreat into a "high mountain" where we can be apart with Jesus lest we fall apart under the pressures of the world.

• Matt 17:2 The Greek word translated "transfigured" is metamorphoo, from which we get our word "metamorphosis"—the same word used to describe what happens to a caterpillar inside a cocoon. After Moses received the Law on Mount Sinai, his face began to shine. But as time went on, it began to fade because the glory of Moses was a reflected glory (2Co_3:13). Jesus, on the other hand, shone not with a reflected glory, but with a radiant glory. As the Light of the world, the light emanated from within Himself (Joh_8:12).

• Matt. 17:3-5 The Transfiguration was a foretaste of heaven; the participants were doing something worth noting—talking together. In God's world, interactions count highly. People are individuals, with minds, hearts, and opinions. People are also part of a wider whole, connected by relationships built on sharing between whole persons. Friendship is the key. Make time and opportunities to talk with others. Good conversations act as training for eternity. Moses and Elijah were the two greatest prophets in the Old Testament. Moses represents the law, or the old covenant. He wrote the Pentateuch, and he predicted the coming of a great prophet (Deu_18:15-19). Elijah represents the prophets who foretold the coming of the Messiah (Mal_4:5-6). Moses' and Elijah's presence with Jesus confirmed Jesus' messianic mission: to fulfill God's law and the words of God's prophets. Just as God's voice in the cloud over Mount Sinai gave authority to his law (Exo_19:9), God's voice at the Transfiguration gave authority to Jesus' words.

Personal Supplication
Father in the name of Jesus, like Peter, James and John saw Your glory on the mount of transfiguration, give me an encounter of a life time that I will keep talking about forever. 1 John 1:1-3

Daily Covenant Favor Declaration
I decree in the name of Jesus, from this moment forward, I see myself the way God sees me. I am highly favoured of the Lord. I am crowned with glory and honour. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
I am reigning as a king in life through the one man Jesus Christ the messiah. Now in Jesus name, I declare by faith that I walk in divine favour, I have preferential treatment, supernatural increase. I have restoration, I have prominence, I have petitions granted, laws changed, policies and rules changed, and battles won, which I do not have to fight all because of favour. The blessing and favour of God is on my life. In Jesus name, every morning, when I arise, I would speak and expect divine favour to go before me and surround me as with a shield, with goodwill and pleasures forevermore.

Doors are now open for me that men said are impossible to open. No obstacles can stop me, no hindrances can delay me. In Jesus name, I am honoured by my Father, as I receive genuine favour that comes directly from God. I am special to Him, I am the object of His affection, I am the apple of His eyes, I am blessed and highly favoured of the Lord. Everyone and everything shall work to favour me. Angels Goodness and Mercy shall accompany me in all my ways. It is written with long life will God satisfy me and show me his salvation. Therefore, I declare that I shall not die but live to declare the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I declare over me and my household today that the yoke and burden of death over us is broken. So shall it be for me and my household today in Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen!
