Jordan building collapse: Dead, injured and others trapped of a four-story apartment building

Officials attributed the collapse to poor foundations and weak supporting structures. However, residents told Arab News that they believed work on a new adjacent building had contributed to the failure.

Rescue workers search for survivors under the rubble of a four-storey residential building which collapsed in Jordan's capital. The bodies of two people were recovered and 14 more were rescued but others remained trapped.

In statements to Al Arabiya.net, management confirmed that it is still dealing with the event, noting that there were a number of people trapped in the collapse of the building in Al Weibdeh.

The Jordanian Prime Minister, Bisher Al-Khasawneh, and numerous ministers were present at the crash site.

The management indicated that there were injuries due to the collapse of the building and some of them suffered from suffocation, so they were provided with oxygen.
