Check out a day in the life of my raw and whole prey fed cat Jericho. I'm moving towards 100% fresh, raw, whole foods.

Jericho's been eating raw since 2018. But this year, I'm taking it further and going back to what nature intended.

I used to feed a bunch of supplements and ground food from online raw pet food retailers.

Jericho's ground food was always frozen and sitting in the freezer for about 2 months at a time.

But now I'm moving Jericho towards whole prey, fresh food from the farmer's market, and minimizing supplements.

Jericho eats around 3.5-4 oz of food daily. I'm still adjusting this amount based on his weight which fluctuates often.

He eats:
1 whole adult mouse/day (from Rodent Pro)
1-2 chunks of whole adult quail/day (from RFM)
Ground duck and beef combined (from Hare Today or RFM)
Fresh chunk of meat or raw egg (from farmers market)

I would like to phase out whole mice because technically it's not the best quality coming from a breeding facility.

RFM, however, sources whole prey from local farms so I feel more comfortable with their quail.

Hare Today and RFM source their grind meats from local farms.

But Hare Today's whole prey come from Layne Labs and Rodent Pro (both breeding facilities).

As far as fresh meat from the farmer's market, so far I have given Jericho ground turkey thigh meat, boneless chicken breast chunks, and london broil chunks.

This varies by day depending on what meat I'm thawing for myself.

If I don't give Jericho raw meat chunks from what I'm eating, I give him raw egg from what I eat.

I also portion out his meat chunks BEFORE seasoning and cooking the meat.

So to clarify, Jericho's portion of the meat and eggs from what I eat are raw and unseasoned.

His algae supplement powder is left out for him to choose whether to eat it or not.
