Could We've Caught More Big Bass On The Crankbait???!!!

My friends wanted to go fishing, so I decided to take them to a small lake on a john boat! We tried throwing a worm and a craw on the Texas rig but didn't have a whole lot of luck! I decided to throw a crank bait for a few minutes and started getting bites! I caught a BIG BASS on it! Should we've threw Cranks more today?.......
