Dark Void (PS3) Gameplay

To say that Capcom didn't try new IPs, or in this case, publish them, in the 7th gen would be untrue. I don't know if it's just the PS3 version that has some jankiness to it, but Dark Void was an attempt at trying something new, marred by some control and technical issues. I haven't played incredibly far into it, but I do like what I have played of this game so far.

As I said, there are some control issues, and the PS3 version seems to have some optimization issues. I can't confirm if the 360 version has those same issues.

This game is a duck and cover shooter with an interesting jetpack gimmick, and a story focus. If they had refined a few things here and there before it's release, it could have been a great title. Overall, it is still a solid title, and worth a play if you find it for cheap, and hats off to Capcom for at least trying to release western style games in the 7th gen. Sure, they still had their Street Fighters, Mega Mans, and Resident Evils in the gane, but they also had games like Dark Void, Bionic Commando ReArmed, and Lost Planet. It's a shame some of their other efforts didn't take off.
