COP PLEADS GUILTY

In federal court on Tuesday, a former detective from Louisville admitted to helping fabricate a search warrant that resulted in the shooting of Breonna Taylor, a black woman whose death sparked a wave of protests against police abuse of people of color. According to the New York Times, Kelly Goodlett, the former cop, filed her plea before US District Judge Rebecca Grady Jennings in federal court in Louisville, Kentucky. According to the publication, Goodlett admitted guilt on one count of conspiracy, making him the first cop to face criminal charges for the failed raid. Goodlett was charged with coordinating with a different investigator to forge the warrant that authorized the raid and concealing the forgery.
