PB (MSc Biology, PhD Medical Sciences) is a Dutch molecular biologist, scientific writer & author. He has worked for several scientific institutions, including the University of Groningen (The Netherlands), the University of Sydney (Australia), the University of Basel (Switzerland), and the University of Zurich (Switzerland). An expert in molecular and genome biology related to gene expression and signal transduction network, PB has published more than 70 papers in leading journals, including the New England J. Medical Journal. PB works on the non-protein coding portion of the genome and this portion is involved in generating variation in the gene regulatory programming. He is assessing the hypothesis that transposable elements are the precursors of retroviruses. He is the author of the international bestseller “Darwin Revisited or how to understand biology in the 21st century” and he is a board member of the ICLSS, an international consortium of life sciences that closely follows the science behind the corona measures.
