5 FAVORITE CROPS: Summer 2022

Options for growing during the heat are limited in hot summer climates, but there were a few standouts this year that handled the heat and made it onto my "must grow" list.
Here's the countdown:
#5 - Emerald Towers Basil: from Burpee Gardening flavor and the plant grew "up" naturally.
#4 - Sesame: My first time growing, the plant thrived in the heat. Looking forward to the flavor of fresh sesame
#3 - Queen Lime Zinnias: Seeds from Select Seeds Continual blooms and beautiful colors.
#2 - Striped Carosello Leccese Armenian-type cucumber; seeds from Cucumber Shop They look like mini-watermelon but taste delicious.
#1 - Painted Serpent Armenian Cucumber seeds from Eden Brothers and transplants from Arizona Worm Farm These taste like regular cucumbers and thrived in the heat.
