Former US attorney: Trump pressed DOJ to prosecute 'enemies'

Geoffrey Berman, who was the US attorney for the southern district of New York, said Monday his office didn't indict trump because of a lack of evidence. His office prosecuted Cohen -- and led investigations into other trump allies. Cohen pleaded guilty in August 2018 to nine federal crimes, including tax fraud, lying to congress, and campaign finance charges. Cohen admitted in court he facilitated payments to two women to stop them from going public with alleged affairs with Trump. He said it was at the direction of a candidate for federal office, but did not name the candidate.
