Many thanks to Orchard Music for letting me post the video with their music under Fair Use.

The lyrics were originally written by Cecil Frances Alexander in 1848 and the music for this version was written by John Rutter in 1983. The hymn teaches us about the glory of God revealed in His creation. It reminds us of God's great power and might and yet also His care and love for even the tiniest of creatures.
Scripture references:
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Jeremiah 32:17 "Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You."
Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork."
John 1:1-3 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made."
Matthew 6:26 "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

If you have not received the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, repent and believe in the gospel - the good news! Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day so that we may have eternal life by faith in Him.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23
