Leaving Grants New Mexico

I just left Grants NM where I had spent the night in one a few remaining hotels in that old town. I guess Grants used to be a hot spot back in the Route 66 heydays. It was a town in the middle of nowhere right off the highway for travelers to stop and eat, gas up or get a hotel room and spend their money in the town.

I wish I had taken video of the town, though there really was much left of it. The old buildings was falling apart. I saw a bunch of old motels, restaurants, and other buildings just left to rot with sunken roofs and broken windows the norm in all of them. The town likely died soon after RT 66 did.
