When the strawberry patch was winterized there were enough strawberry runner removed to start a new container. Remember with strawberries, the crown should not be covered with soil. Every year you should check your strawberry plants out to make sure the crown is above the soil. Remove any dead or dying leaves and remove excessive runners from the plant. If you have the space transplant the strawberry runners to give you more free strawberry plants.
